Weekend of Wonder, Santa and Christmas Tree Festival
Ramsgate Winter Festival is in full swing.
One of my favourite things about living in Ramsgate is the Living Advent Calendar that happens throughout December. If you don’t know about it, every day is a different location (Advent door) with activities or events for people to attend.
For me, it embodies everything the town is about. People coming together in torrential rain over a glass of mulled wine (quite literally at our own door on Friday night), steamy shop windows as people discover new places, silly carols, and homemade baked goods. All to support the Thanet Winter Shelter and spread a bit of festive cheer. I’ve never experienced a community like it, and if you’re yet to attend one of the doors, take this as your sign to check out this week’s doors along with the rest of the week’s events.

Ramsgate Winter Festival continues with the launch of the ‘Light Up Ramsgate Trail’, a series of artist-designed light installations from the harbour to the high street. Pop it in your diary for Thursday evening when the town participates in late-night Christmas shopping (until 8pm) with a chance to win a £50 voucher to spend in participating shops. iDeer projections, a winter parade & Christmas market in Charlotte Court are also on the agenda!
