Book in now for this four-part writing and creative practice programme led by multidisciplinary artist and ‘ritual’ composer RIEKO, who will explore different ways to access your creativity.

This is play. (RIEKO has called her art a ‘daily act of devotion and play’).
This is a space to experiment and to create - not to produce perfection.
This is self-examination. Reaching into your chest, exploring your internal world, the place from which you create, the place where your inspiration lives; that jewel at your core which fires when you’re in flow.
This programme is your chance to dig deeper into your creative practice (whatever that may be) and challenge yourself with new starting points - or a different medium entirely.
Each week will start somewhere new.
Explore your intuition, memory and self-expression through movement, writing, drawing and improvised performance.
The series will build to an optional public presentation in December.

About RIEKO
RIEKO (Rieko Whitfield) is a Japanese-born ritual artist and composer working across music, performance, writing and live art. Her multidisciplinary practice explores cycles of life, death and rebirth, bringing together experimental music, ritual and collective creative experiences.
RIEKO has worked with a range of leading cultural institutions, including Tate Modern, Tate Britain, the V&A, the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Southbank Centre, Barbican Centre, Whitechapel Gallery, The Photographers’ Gallery, South London Gallery and the Fitzwilliam Museum. Her SEANCES by RIEKO workshops have been presented at the Royal College of Art, University of the Arts London, University of Cambridge, American University of Paris, Rupert Alternative Education Programme in Lithuania and the Transart Institute for Creative Research’s international PhD programme.
She is also the Founding Director of Diasporas Now, a live art platform and cultural agency supporting Global Majority artists working across experimental music, performance and ritual world-building. RIEKO works between London and Margate.
